County Champ R9 - D1 and Pro40 Cricket & Tables

Just one match of each competition today plus the updated Pro40 Tables.

Day 1

Glamorgan v Leicestershire
Leicestershire won the toss and decided to bat
Lei - 199-6

Leicestershire crawled along too less than 200 on the first day between the two clubs at the bottom of Division 2. Thornely made 97 from 267 balls but was the sixth man out as Glamorgan scratched away. I think everyone is hoping for a more exciting day tomorrow.

Pro40

Netherlands v Essex - Netherlands win by 5 wickets
Essex won the toss and decided to bat
Ess - 112
Net - 113-5

Essex were thrashed by the Netherlands, who made it two wins in as many days. The visitors began badly with Pettini falling first ball and Shah lbw to the third. It never got better as the visitors slipped to a very poor total.
In reply the Netherlands lost five wickets but didn't look too trouble as they swept to an easy victory, with Swart top scoring again with 40.

Star Player: Van der Gugten, for his three wickets that decimated the Essex top order to set the game firmly in the hands of the home side.
