Lancashire v Worcestershire
Wor - 291 & 9-0
Lan - 162
The Lancashire openers took their partnership to 61 before they both fell within four runs of each other. It wasn't long though before Worcestershire were back among the wickets, especially Ali who took three wickets late on as the home side slipped to 119-9. Any hope of a quick end to the innings and a chance of a follow on though were wiped out with a last wicket stand worth 43. Choudry took 4 for 38 but Ali took the plaudits finishing with 6 for 67, his personal best in first class cricket.
Worcestershire played out 3.2 overs before rain cut the day short.
